What the free tools are

The hail lookups on this site are built on NOAA MRMS and NWS data, which is public domain. They are free, they need no account, and we make no promise about uptime. If an upstream federal service is down, the tools say so rather than returning an empty answer that reads like "no hail".

Radar is not damage

MESH is a radar estimate of the largest hail a storm was capable of producing over a grid cell. It is not an observation, not a measurement, and not evidence that any specific roof was damaged. Nothing on this site is an insurance report, an engineering assessment, or a claim document. A roof has to be inspected by a person. You are responsible for what you tell a homeowner about their property.

Leads

• $49 per lead, invoiced after the lead is delivered. No card up front, no contract, no minimum. Stop whenever you want.
• Your first lead is free. One per company.
• Exclusive. A lead goes to one contractor. We do not sell the same homeowner to anyone else.
• One contractor per city, first come. If a city is already held, we will tell you rather than sell you a share of it. Holding a city is not a franchise, a territory grant, or an asset. It can end if you stop responding to leads.
• Whatever rate you start at, you keep for twelve months from your first paid lead.
• Bad leads are not billed. Tell us within seven days if a lead was a wrong number, a duplicate, a renter with no authority, or outside your cities, and it comes off the invoice. We do not ask you to prove it.

We do not promise a number of leads. Hail is weather. Some months a city produces nothing.

What we do not do

We do not contact homeowners on your behalf, sign anything for you, or take a share of a job. We are not a party to whatever you and the homeowner agree.

The API

The JSON API is keyless and free. Please keep request volume reasonable and identify your tool in a user-agent header. We may rate limit or block traffic that threatens the service for everyone else. The underlying NOAA data is public domain and yours to use; this site's pages and code are not.

Liability

The tools and the data are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from use of this site, and any liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the previous three months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that affects money or exclusivity, active customers get an email before it takes effect. Governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
